Sherburne Pageant of Bands

The 60th annual Sherburne Pageant of the Bands, is a three day event (Thrs-Sat), June 4th, June 5th & June 6th. It attracts 10,000 - 15,000 people to town to hear approximately 40 bands compete in their respective classes.

• Thursday, June 4th, the competition begins at 4 PM.
  
• Friday, June 5th, competitions begin at 9 AM, with the Jazz and Winter Guard.

The time for Oxford Academy's Jazz Band to compete in the jazz competition will be announced.

The Oxford High School Marching Band will march and compete in the
Pageant of Bands Parade on Saturday, June 6th, at 1 PM.

Special for 2009: In honor of their 60th anniversary, the Sherburne Pageant is inviting marching band alumni to parade. Oxford Academy Alumni are participating!

The Pumpkin Shell Nursery School cooperative parent group is having a
Roast Pork Benefit Dinner - Friday, June 5th, at the United Church of Oxford, from 5 - 7 PM. This is a fund raiser for the school which will be served in the UCO Fellowship Hall of the Fort Hill building across from the Library.

The menu is: roast pork, oven roasted potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce and rolls. There will also be delicious pies and cakes for dessert. For further dinner information, call (607) 843-9830.

Pumpkin Shell Nursery School has been serving children of the Oxford community for over three decades and is supported solely by its membership. Registrations are being accepted now for the fall. Oxford Senior Center Meeting, Oxford, meets Wednesdays & Fridays, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
Seniors will meet at St. Paul's Church Parish House from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Oxford Senior Center is available for people who want to get out and have a delicious hot meal, in the company of others, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Seniors are invited to get together and socialize, share memories, play cards or dominoes.
Partly funded by the Town of Oxford, the United Way, and other generous contributions.
The Senior Center is open to anyone sixty years and older living within the Oxford township. Approximately 15 to 22 men and women attend. The Center offers this wonderful program *3 days-a-week, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Nutritious and delicious lunches are prepared by the Chenango County Area Agency on Aging, Nutrition Center. (*Every Monday the Senior Center meets at the United Methodist Church, but food is not available. Bring your own lunch.)
